It is said that the company sales declined in 1998 with the changing of high-end handbags to a more eclectic blend of materials such as fabric and mixed materials. The conception among consumers saw Coach handbags as rather conservative and traditional.
From limited edition handbags to distressed leather coats, and shoes, the Coach name created coordinating wallets, silk scarves, thus creating a lifestyle, not just a name.
